This will be my 4th year participating on the Challenge Aspen marathon team.  Thank you to all of you who have donated in the past.  This year the team will hopefully surpass the $1 million mark with your help.  I have pledged to raise $3000 for Challenge Aspen this year.  In return I will run a 54K trail race. To be honest, I didn'y want to do this this year.  I did so much cardio and stopped all strength training last year, and my body is tired.  I am slowly working on getting back in shape.  I am letting running take a backseat and focusing more on strength.  So what happens in my 54K, happens. 

So you may ask, why do this?  The thing is the Challenge Aspen group is amazing.  What the staff of Challenge Aspen does for me is they movitate me.  They tell me it is ok to do what I can, and be who I can.  At the same time, they chear me on, and let me know I am more than I think I am.  This is the whole point of Challenge Aspen.  The testimonials of the participants all repeate the same thing.  So, it is hard to pass up the opportunity to raise money for people living with Physcial and Mental disabililites to have the same opportunity I have.  This year 95% of the proceeds I raise will go directly to providing scholarships or outdoor adaptive equipment for partcipants.  I run in honor of the veterans.  This program provides outdoor opportunities and couciling.   It helps people understand there is more they can do, and reach for.  As a byproduct reducing suicides and giving people and familes hope.
