Hi friends and family!
I hope you’re all having a great summer so far!
I am writing to you all to announce that I will be running my first ultra-marathon in Omis, Croatia on October 19th, 2019 to participate in the Dalmatic Ultra Trail race! For my race training, I have joined the Challenge Aspen Trail Marathon Team, which is an outstanding organization that provides year-round adaptive experiences for individuals faced with cognitive and/or physical disabilities.
Challenge Aspen creates life-changing opportunities by encouraging participation in activities designed to redefine limits, recognize abilities, and transfer newfound courage to everyday life.
I am running this race for all the people who cannot. For the past few years I have been lucky enough to live in such a beautiful place where there is no shortage of hiking, skiing or adventuring. My hope in participating in this race is to give these individuals similar opportunities even when they're faced with disabilities.
My goal is to raise $6,000 to contribute to this organization that has impacted so many lives.
I will be running in the 54 KM race in Croatia. To date, the longest race I have participated in is a half marathon. With the additional 20 miles of training, I am very nervous but also very excited to test my limits. I am so incredibly anxious to start this journey but have the privilege to be a part of the 2019 Trail Marathon Team throughout my training.
