Hello!

I made the commitment and joined the 2022 Challenge Aspen trail running and fundraising team. The "Sole Mates" are headed to Verbania, Italy to participate in the Ultra Trail Lago Maggiore race series on October 1, 2022! Running a marathon has always been on the bucket list, but running with a close group of friends for a mission I strongly care about, was the push I needed to send it.

Challenge Aspen provides year-round adaptive experiences for individuals faced with cognitive and/or physical disabilities. Like many of my pals, outdoor recreation is how I make friends, have fun, get strong physically and mentally, feel connected with Mother Nature, and cope with whatever hardships are going on in my life or the greater world. Challenge Aspen adaptive experiences work to give people with disabilities those same outlets. Our incredible staff, volunteers and instructors help to create life-changing opportunities for our participants by encouraging participation in activities designed to redefine limits, recognize abilities, and transfer newfound courage to everyday life. Last winter I joined the adaptive ski instructing team and had a blast sharing my love of sliding down the hill. The positive attitudes and resiliency shown to me this past winter on lessons has encouraged me to challenge my own attitude and abilities by pushing myself to trail run at high elevations on tough terrain.
